Office of the Chief Medical Director
The Chief Medical Director is the Hospital's Chief Executive Officer and, in that capacity, has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the entire hospital. The statutory role of the Chief Medical Director is that of an over-all coordinator of the entire hospital. Each head of Department may be ascribed specific responsibility for a group of activities. He is directly responsible to the Board of Management usually instituted by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is the Chief Accounting Officer of the institution. There are many various departments, units and centres grouped for efficient and effective service delivery. In this perceptive, he is assisted in accordance with the reconstitution of Boards of University Teaching Hospital's Decree Cap 463 of 1985 by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (Director of Clinical Services) who coordinates the medical and clinical activities including training, also assisted by three (3) Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee in charge of Clinicals, Training and Research & Ethics respectively. The Director of Administration who is in charge of Administration and other support services departments in the hospital. The Chief Medical Director in addition directs the activities of key departments/units such as Internal Audit, Security, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit, SERVICOM, Procurement Unit, Legal unit and information and public relations, Protocol as well as relationship with external bodies.
STAFFING
The staff in the office of the Chief Medical Director include:
- Dahiru Hammawa Personal Assistant to the Chief Medical Director who handles administrative duties and sundry matters in the Office and other assignment as directed by the CMD.
- Haruna Alkali Saidu Chief Confidential Secretary who coordinates the secretarial administration of the office.
- Ismail Hashim Abubakar Chief Secretarial Assistant who provides secretarial Assistants to the office
- Abbas Musa The Head Messenger
