Protocol Department

The University of MAIDUGURI TEACHING HOSPITAL was established and officially commissioned on 23rd/July/1983 Since then the PROTOCOL and the Public relations(PR) functions together as a unit under ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT until the emergenced of professor ABDULRAHMAN TAHIR as the Chief Medical Director(CMD). The top Management Committee on its 30th Meeting held on Friday 27th/June/2014, considered a memo and decided that the public relations and the protocol unit would then henceforth be directly under the office of the Chief Medical Officer(CMD)as separate autonomous unit and Appointed Alh Aja Zannah as Head of the protocol unit.

Vision: Diplomatic tertiary health institution with a positive environmental image of excellence in training,research, and service delivery.
Mission: Provision of curative and preventive health care through outreach training,research in efficient and effective manner using motivated and valued staff and moderate technology.

The protocol officer composes clear organisational structure and is responsible for maintaining the etiquette and protocol with the Organisation

To codinate logistics for events and meetings these include:

• Arranging transportation
• Accommodation
• means of attendance as well as managing the events

The protocol officer has an unlimited working period most especially when there is an overside function
